Documents Required when Selling a Vehicle You Own Outright

  • Idaho Certificate of Title 
  • Bill of Sale-  Required for private sales; Dealers/Car Buying Services provide this.
  • Odometer Disclosure (vehicles < 10 years old)-  Required for private sales; Dealers/Car Buying Services provide this.

  • If You Are Selling a Financed Vehicle, You Will Also Need:

  • Loan Payoff Letter
  • Current Registration

  • Junking Your Car? You’ll Need:

  • Title or Salvage Certificate 
  • Bill of Sale

  • Special Circumstances and Forms 

  • Power of Attorney (Form ITD 3403) 
  • Duplicate Title Application (Form ITD 3367)
  • Lien Release Letter
