Documents Required when Selling a Vehicle You Own Outright

  • Illinois Certificate of Title 
  • Bill of Sale 
  • Odometer Disclosure (required under 10 years) 
  • Seller’s Report of Sale (Form VSD 703)

    • If You Are Selling a Financed Vehicle, You Will Also Need: 

  • Lien Release 
  • Signed-off Title

  • Salvage Title or Regular Title 
  • Junk Certificate

  • Duplicate Title Application (Form VSD 393)
