The Dodge Avenger coupe was manufactured between 1995 and 2000. Diamond Star Motors (DSM), a joint venture between Mitsubishi Motors and the Chrysler Corporation, built the Dodge Avenger. In late 1995, Mitsubishi purchased Chrysler's share of the business. Avengers built from 1995 to 1996 have DSM markings on their engines. The line was discontinued in 2000.
The Dodge Avenger resurfaced again in showrooms in 2007, this time in the form of a four-door sedan, which is still in production today. Among the more interesting features of this vehicle is the Dodge “Chill Zone, a standard feature on all models of Avenger. This is a glove compartment that stores up to four 12 US fl oz. cans while chilling them to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Newer models have heated/cooled cup holders. The Dodge Avenger replaced the Charger in 2007 as Dodge’s car in the NASCAR “Car of Tomorrow” races. The Avenger is available in the US, Britain, and Australia.
