The four door Dodge Stratus was introduced in 1995 and received a lot of attention when it first hit the market. The base version came with a standard 2.0 liter engine, but the ES had an optional V6. Standard features included a four speed automatic transmission (plus an optional semi-automatic that Dodge dubbed the “Autostick”), anti-lock brakes and four wheel independent suspension, among other features. The car also had power door locks and cruise control. For added luxury, buyers were offered the option of a six CD changer, sun roof and remote keyless entry.
The second generation of the Dodge Stratus came with some improvements, and it was advertised along with the Sebring as the new generation of mid-sized cars from Dodge. The coupe version of the Stratus was discontinued in the 2005 model year, and the sedan version was discontinued the next year, in 2006.
