Buick’s Park Avenue full-sized luxury car takes its name from New York’s famous boulevard. First produced in 1991, the Park Avenue was designed as a direct replacement for the Electra. There have been two generations of the Park Avenue. The first had a silhouette frequently compared to a contemporary Jaguar, a V6 engine as standard, and the option to upgrade to a leather interior. The second generation, launched in 1997, featured a new engine and a body style more in line with that of the Riviera. It featured a hood ornament, becoming the last Buick to do so. In 2005 the Park Avenue was discontinued and replaced by the Lucerne.
